We guarantee our beef is 100% grass-fed! How can we make such bold statement?
It all starts at home on the farm where we tend to our Black Angus cows, every year our cows have calves. These calves are raised by their mothers and taught how to eat grass until they are old enough to wean. After we wean the calves (they aren't calves anymore they are almost half grown) off their mother we give them pasture of their own. Here they eat more grass until they are big enough to go for processing if we choose. The whole process from birth to full grown is 16-20months.
What do we feed our cattle?
The simple answer is grass, but there is more to it. Our cattle are raised naturally and without drugs, antibiotics or hormones this guarantees a "clean" meat and no drug residue is passed on to the consumer. We aren't just cattle farmers we do more! On our regenerative farm we plant multiple species of grasses and grass related forages, this helps us manage our herd along helping our cows nurse their calves. During the summer months we make hay for our cattle to eat during the winter. We manage our large amount of pasture by using rotational grazing practices. As we rotational graze we are supplying the cattle with fresh grass every day. In using regenerative farm practices on our farm isn't just for the benefit of our cattle but also for our soil. When we rotate our cattle we our building organic matter, sequestering carbon, feeding microbes in the soil along with helping water infiltration in the ground. Above the ground we are feeding livestock, promoting regrowth, making oxygen and using carbon dioxide. We are grass farmers feeding cattle grass and taking care of the world God has created!
